A community centered planning process.

The May 2018 bond package has been developed through a program of community outreach, input and conversation.

From September through November 2017, Brady ISD engaged the community through three community town hall meetings and three community surveys envisioning the future of Brady ISD. The input from hundreds of survey responses and over 100 community members attending town halls, in conjunction with an assessment of current facilities and discussions with Brady ISD staff on the academic needs of the district, a thirty-year plan is currently being developed. As the beginning of that thirty-year plan, the community identified several areas in need of immediate improvements, and narrowed those down to the most important through the town hall meetings.

Recommendations based on community input were made to the Brady ISD Board of Trustees at the December board meeting. At the December and January board meetings the board listened to additional comments from community members. Based on this input the board has assembled a project package they believe will have the maximum positive impact on the education of Brady ISD students and the community at large.

On February 9, 2018 the board approved the $13 million bond package. The board has also vowed to limit spending to ensure that tax rates will not be raised.

The bond referendum will appear on the May 5, 2018 ballot, with early voting starting April 23.
